It’s funny to me to hear the reaction of some football fans (mostly on the Iowa side) about the Nebraska and Iowa game being moved to Friday, November 25th.
Iowa Fans have jumped on the Big 10 bandwagon and assumed that college football is designated only for Saturday’s. It’s not! Look around and you will find that the game is being played almost every day of the week thanks to ESPN.
IT’S A RIVALRY!
I know Iowa fans somehow want Nebraska to earn its stripes in the Big 10, after all the Huskers are the newcomer to the league. But let’s get one thing straight, the reason this blog was created, the reason my full website is being built as we speak is because this is a RIVALRY! Playing the Friday after Thanksgiving only adds to the hype that will be Nebraska and Iowa. Think about the great games and great teams that play on Thanksgiving weekend. Who really cares if it’s on Friday or Saturday?
RIVALRY WEEKEND
Iowa vs. Nebraska
Auburn vs. Alabama
Georgia vs. Georgia Tech
Missouri vs. Kansas
Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State
Texas vs. Texas A&M
BYU vs. Utah
Florida vs. Florida State
PITT vs. West Virginia
Clemson vs. South Carolina
Virginia Tech vs. Virginia
What more do you want?
Thanksgiving giving weekend is designated for what I think are the best and most talked about games of the year. Iowa and Nebraska falls into this category.
Think about it, would you rather line up at Wal-Mart at 5:00 AM to buy Christmas gifts or tailgate at Memorial Stadium or Kinnick Stadium eating left over bird and drinking Bloody Mary’s and beer? Thought so!
shopping sucks. GO HUSKERS!!!
