HuskerHawkeye Headlines

We are heading into the summer months were things start to slow down a little bit.   But according to Hawk Central summer is a busy time for the Iowa coaching staff and their recruiting efforts.

Pat Harty writes today that one of the great Hawkeye Hoopsters would be a good fit int he athletic department.  I tend to agree with him.   You can't go wrong with a famous alum who's smart and talented working for you.  Plus the boosters would rather rub elbows and give money to a big name than just some "development guy".

The "Advisor"
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that Husker quarterback and baseball recruit Bubba Starling still plans to report for duty in July.   I say don't believe everything you read.   This is another negotiating ploy by starling and his "advisor" Scott Boras. Who knows it might mean another million dollars.  If starling was really coming to Lincoln do you think Boras would spend so much time "advising'?

With Cody Spano out, the Huskers are now in the market for a QB.  (Did you catch the sarcasm in the that)  I do care who you are or how many quarterbacks you have, you should always be in the market for a QB.

Bo Pelini must be paying attention to his Alma Matter, Ohio State.  Making the rounds on the summer speaking tour Bo knows how to set the standard of discipline.  Would you want to piss him off?  I don't think so.

Speaking of the Buckeyes, more trouble for THE Ohio State, will it ever end for the Buckeyes?  Maybe when Jim Tressel gets fired.

ESPN's Big 10 Blogger Adam Rittenberg has more on the Big 10 keeping the name Big 10.   Sure the math doesn't add up but the dollars sure do.

  1. If Bubba is a top 5 pick in the drat, IMO there is no way he plays for the Huskers.
