Huskers A Good Bet In The Big 10

The Golden Nugget
As we get closer to the season you will see a lot of blog posts on HuskerHawkeye.com about the action in Vegas.   I am happy to report that the Golden Nugget has come out with its early points spreads on games throughout the season.  You can read the entire story at covers.com who HuskerHawkeye contributor Scott Spreitzer also writes for.

Right now, Iowa is not on the board from what I can see.  I think this is because the Hawks are one of those teams we just don't know about yet.  Phil Steele told me on my radio show that Iowa is going 9-3. Sounds good but I think the book makers want to see a little more from the Black and Gold before putting a spread out there this far in advance.

Vegas knows what it's getting with Nebraska.  A strong defense and a retooled offense that has plenty of familiar faces from last season.  All the troubles at Ohio State have now made Nebraska the favorite to win the Big 10 in my book.   Here's how the Golden Nugget sees some of the Nebraska games this season.

Nebraska @ Wisconsin (-2.5)
Michigan State @ Nebraska (-7.5)
Northwestern @ Nebraska (-12)
Nebraska (-1) @ Penn State
Nebraska (-1) @ Michigan State

Impressive, Nebraska is the favorite in 4 of the 5 early game picks by Vegas.  I have to believe they will be the favorite in all HOME games this year.
