Lack Of Original Thought

Shawn Watson
I don't expect this to be the only blog your read about Nebraska and Iowa.  In fact if it was I would have serious concerns about your constant pursuit of knowledge when it comes to these two teams.

Because at times I find myself unable to come up with an original thought, or better yet I am too damn lazy to take the time to write I will pass along good stories form writers I know and respect.

Like Tom Shatel's column suggesting the Nebraska offense might be spreading out a bit, even by keeping OC Shawn Watson.  It's believable on both parts.  The offense has to do something different and Watson has to be willing to change his thinking.  By the way, didn't Tom Osborne running the spread in its infancy back in 1995?  Oh how history repeats itself.

Nile Kinnick
The Big 10 Conference is naming its top icons.   Iowa's Heisman Trophy winner Nile Kinnick is number 7 on the list.  He joins former Hawkeyes Tom Brands (Wrestling) Chuck Long (Football) and Alex Karras (Football) on the icon list.

You have to wonder if they are completing the Icon list now before Nebraska enters the  Big 10?  No you really don't have to wonder, of course they are.

  1. Kinnick is too low. Makes you wonder who is ahead of him? Magic Johnson, Jesse Owens, Archie Griffin, John Havelichek, Red Grange and Dick Butkus are my guesses for the top 6.

  2. I have my doubts that Watson is willing to change. If Coach Pelini wants to run the Oregon offense, former Husker Scott Frost and current Oregon WR coach needs to be on the Husker staff.

    GBR!
