I’m not real big on clichés; however we are getting a better look at the future of Iowa Basketball. Great performances by two freshmen lead the Hawks to their first Big 10 win of the season, 91-77 over Indiana.
Melsahn Basabe with a double-double, 20 points and 10 rebounds, fellow freshman Devyn Marble scores a career high 18 points off the bench. Four Hawks in double figures as Matt Gatens scores 19 and Eric May 11.
The Positive: Iowa Shoots 57.7% from the field
The Negative: Iowa Commits 19 Turnovers
Looking ahead, two of the next three games for the Hawks are on the road. To be honest today might be the only conference win this season for Iowa. Again, I don’t think fans are expecting wins as much as they are expecting improvement.
Today they got to see both.
