Martinez Getting More Respect Outside Of Lincoln

Taylor Martinez
The Nebraska football team heads into spring practice with a new Offensive Coordinator.  This means there will be a new offense that Bo Pelini promises to be "attacking and aggressive."

Taylor Martinez is the resident starter for the Big Red, but the red shirt sophomore to be is not a shoe in to be under center when the Huskers take the field for real in September.

The ass chewing he took from Pelini in the Texas A&M game and his lack of production in the 2nd half of the season would be reasons to point to.   New Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck says he wants a QB who is a leader at the position and a guy he can trust.

While Martinez fights for his job in Lincoln, he's getting a lot of hype in Big 10 circles.  He's ranked as the 8th best player in the Big 10 by the "Bleacher Report".  Check out the list here.

The list includes four Huskers and two Hawkeyes.

  1. Martinez needs to do alot of growing up if Beck wants him to be a "leader" because his actions on the sideline (off by himself) is not what you want from a "leader".

    GBR!
